Teammates

To change your teammates, click the "Teammates" button. The roster shows who is available. Your team is shown in the bottom panel. Click on a teammate in the bottom panel you want to replace.

Click on any teammate to read their profile. Click on the "Select" button of a new teammate. Click on "Save Settings" when you're done.

Drop Zone

Dropzone

If you want to change your drop zone, click on the "Drop Zone" button. There are four drop zones. Pick the one you want by clicking the location on the map. The panel on the left lists the possible drop sites. Click on the "Save Settings" button when you're done.

Food Pack

Food Pack

If you want to change your food pack, click on the "Food Pack" button. There are four kinds: balanced, protein-rich, vegetarian, and carbohydrate-rich. Click on the food pack you want. Click on the "Save Settings" button when you're done.

Head Out

Head Out

When you're ready to head out, click the "OK" button. You're in the upper left and your teammates appear in the other corners. The directions you can go will show up around the kayak. To the left, you have your map, handbooks, and the weather/rescue radio.

Rock Climbing

Rock-climbing Site

As you paddle along the coastline and around islands, you'll see a rock-climbing site from time to time.

Click on the Rock cliff to go rock-climbing.

Go Rock Climbing

Go rock-climbing?

Your teammates will have opinions about rock-climbing and they will have an opinion about each choice. For the tour, regardless of what your teammates think, check "Let's Climb." and then click the "Our Decision" button.

Climb

Climb

Climb the rock face using the moves at the bottom of the panel. Combine these moves to scale the rock face before your stamina runs out. Once you make it to the top or run out of steam, you'll head back to your kayak.

Campsites

Camp sites

Along the coasts and on islands, you will see a campsite from time to time. They are all named and identified on the map. Click on the fire ring to stop and camp for the day.

Make Camp

Make Camp?

Your teammates will each have an opinion about camping and they will have an opinion about each choice. If you agree with what your teammates think, check "Let's camp." Then, click the "Our Decision" button.

Camp Duties

Camp Duties

You have to decide who does what at the campsite. You will also have to decide what to eat for dinner and what to eat for breakfast. Go through those decisions and then break camp and head out onto the water again.

History Sleuth

Check "Let's check it out." and then click the "Our Decision" button. Try to identify three different artifacts. You can head back to the water anytime by clicking the small "X" button in the upper right corner of the History Sleuth panel.

History Identification

Look at the photo at the right and the choices on the left. Read your teammates comments carefully. If your teammate's favorite activity is "Historic Site Exploring," they might be able to help identify strange objects.

Fish

Fish

When you're out in the water, you will see a fish jump out of the water from time to time. There's a fishing spot! Click on the fish.

Check "Let's fish!" and then click the "Our Decision" button. Try to identify three different fish. You can head back to the water anytime by clicking the small "X" button in the upper right corner of the Wildlife Sleuth panel.

Reading

Reading

From time to time, you'll be asked to answer some questions from the Kayak Handbook or from the Wildlife Identification Book. Correct answers earn you bonus points towards your Kayak Certification.

Rescue

Rescue

After you've been out on the water, click on the radio that's in the left panel. Then, click on the "Rescue" button. You'll get a rescue decision point. Check off "End our trek" and click the "Our Decision" button.

Trek Over

This Trek Is Over

Because of hunger, mood, fatigue, or injury, one of your teammates may decide to quit the trek and call a rescue. In that case, your only choice is to accept that one teammate has decided to quit the trek and call a rescue.

Conclusion

Conclusion

After a short movie of the rescue, you'll see a report from your teammates of how well they think you did. If you made it to the TeamTreks cabin, and made good decisions that kept your teammates happy, you might earn a Kayak Certificate.
